Last week marked the grand return of the Late Late Show to Irish tellies. Back after a brief summer hiatus, Ryan Tubridy is also back as host of the popular late-night chat show. Now in its 59th series, the season opener kicked off with Ryan chatting to Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody, Hollywood actor Russel Crowe and cousins Ellen Glynn and Sara Feeney – better known as the two rescued Galway paddleboarders.
Also marking the absence of festival season, last Friday’s ep kept music fans most happy with a stunning performance from the Irish Women in Harmony who took to the stage with their rendition of the Cranberries song Dreams.Â
Teasing the lineup for this week’s show, Friday night will see Tubs chat to a host of different personalities ranging from Ant and Dec to Jane Fonda and Mary Trump – niece of President of the United States Donald Trump. Other well-known faces to make an appearance include GAA star Bernard Brogan, with music to come from Dublin band Stolen City and The Academic.

All the more reason to stay in? I’ll let you be the judge of that, but you won’t be short of entertainment should you decide to opt for a cosy night on the couch.
