The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is one of the most fondly remembered comedy shows of the 1990s but what if it got flipped-turned upside down into a gritty drama?
Apparently, that's what's happening and it's all thanks to a viral trailer that has clocked up almost 2.5 million views since it was uploaded in March of 2019.
Directed by Morgan Cooper, the clip is simply titled Bel-Air and has caught the eye of Will Smith, who played the main protagonist in the original sitcom. Smith and Cooper are now working on a dark and gritty reboot that's a far cry from the world of Will's weight jibes towards Uncle Phil and Carlton's famous Tom Jones dance moves.
The project has reportedly been in development for over a year and also has original producers Benny Medina and Quincy Jones on board. You can check out the trailer that inspired the new Fresh Prince reboot below...
