The TV show that stole everyone’s hearts in the 90s and provided endless hungover afternoon viewing for everyone in the 00s, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is truly iconic.Â
Unrealistic New York city apartments, high end jobs in Ralph Lauren and soap screen acting careers made us dream of living in the Big Apple, but it was the gang’s beloved coffee shop that we envied the most.Â
Everything cool happened in Central Perk. ‘Smelly Cat’ was sung and iconic lines from creepy Gunther were uttered in almost every episode. We all wanted to hang out in Central Perk.Â
And now, for lucky locals in the Sunny South East, they actually can.Â
A new cafe has opened in Waterford called Central Perk and it’s clearly based on the famous  F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
There’s indulgent cakes, and savoury treats such as sambos and paninisÂ
Who wouldn’t want to hang out here and Instagram the shit out of this place?
Coffee is made using coffee beans from the local Mean Bean roasters – think rich hazelnut aromas and sweet, fruity notes with just a touch of smokiness
YUM. We’ve been meaning to nip down along the coast some weekend… This might just be the kick we’ve needed.Â
Central Perk is open 8am-5pm Mon-Fri and 12pm-5pm on Sunday. It’s closed on Saturdays, so just be aware.Â
