Seann Walsh Admits He Almost Quit ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ After Controversial Kiss

Seann Walsh has revealed he almost didn’t go through with this week’s Strictly Come Dancing performance after hitting the headlines with dance partner Katya Jones.

The pair were pictured kissing on a London street after last week’s episode despite both having partners at the time.

Katya is married to dancer Neil Jones, who also works on the BBC show, while Seann was in a five-year relationship with actress Rebecca Humphries until she ended things last week.

There were calls for Seann and Katya to quit the competition after the scandal broke but they decided to go ahead with their performance – which judge Craig Revel Horwood called their “dance of shame”.

After finding out they were through to next week’s competition, Seann said, “There was a point where I thought ‘I can’t do this’. I went back to where I was staying and kept practicing and practicing on my own.”

Meanwhile a source from the show told the Mirror, “Seann spent most of Saturday in his dressing room or quiet corners away from the other celebs in the run up to filming the main show and the results show. He was clearly very anxious and nervous about the dance and only relaxed a little when their final dress rehearsal with Katya went well.

“Afterwards it was clear he was relieved to be through and he said he was grateful to those who voted. It meant a lot. He didn’t stop in the bar for a drink with the other contestants and went straight home to avoid any more trouble.”
