R&B legend Macy Gray has announced an intimate gig in Cork this summer.

Macy Gray will take her distinctive voice to Cork’s Cyprus Avenue on June 17, with tickets going on sale this Friday at 9am via the venue’s website.

Gray rose to prominence at the turn of the millennium with the release of her debut studio album, On How Life Is, which has since earned 3x platinum certification.

Gray, who was born Natalie Renée McIntyre, won the Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 2001 for the song, I Try.

She has released nine albums since the incredible success of On How Life Is and has kept busy touring, visiting Ireland on multiple occasions.

The 52-year-old is expected to sell out Cyprus Avenue when tickets are released on Friday so act quickly if you want to get your hands on tickets, which are priced at €38.50.

Cyprus Avenue remains one of the country’s top venues for music and while its 2018 expansion means that approximately 500 fans can now squeeze into the room above The Old Oak in Cork City, it still definitely falls into the ‘intimate’ category.
