One of Sligo’s favourite cafés will remain closed

But it isn’t all bad news…

With the lifting of certain restrictions from today (Friday, December 4), there are likely a number of spots that everyone had in mind to be revisiting over the weekend, but unfortunately, Pudding Row in Sligo won’t be one of them.

One of Sligo’s favourite lunch spots won’t be reopening their doors… mostly. Kind of.

Instead, they’re reimagining themselves as a grocer, at least for the time being.

In a statement on social media, they announced the following:

“Hello friends, so many of you have been asking, but we’ve been happily distracted, head down, busily making, baking and shipping our goods to you. But the news is that sadly, our café seats will remain closed, for now at least but we wish all our friends in their businesses across Ireland the very best of luck and love in reopening over the coming days and weeks.”

“With all the uncertainty inside our little industry and beyond, we’re incredibly grateful to be where we are, doing what we love and we’ve been blown away by your support, thank you!! HUGE thanks to our brilliant team, so hardworking, so kind and so so funny, we couldn’t do any of this without them”

So for now, they’ll be open from Wednesday to Sunday each week, from 9.30am to 5pm, selling “fresh breads, homemade cakes and hand rolled pastries, plus the loveliest selection of retail bits and gifts.”
