Look for a Netflix pick-me-up? Sick of serious TV shows or dispiriting real-life crime documentaries? Look no further.
There’s an absolute plethora of hilarious comedy shows on the platform that you really should have watched by now maybe haven’t gotten round to just yet.
We’ve listed 11 of our rib-tickling favourites below that are perfect for your next binge.
There are countless infectious characters involved and their lives are generally shittier than yours so you’re bound to feel on top of the world after watching.
Take your pick:
1. Gavin And Stacey
The show that catapulted James Corden into the public eye, the plot follows the relationship of the two title characters played by Matthew Horne and Joanna Page.
2. The Office
The show that has spawned countless other ‘cringe comedies’ since its debut in 2001. With just 12 main episodes and a Christmas special it should only take a few nights of binging.
Trust us, if you haven’t gotten round to watching this groundbreaking workplace comedy yet then you are truly missing out.
Be warned, the ending of the Christmas special will leave you blubbing.
3. Peep Show
Another absolute gem, Peep Show follows the twisted lives of loveable layabout Jez and his stuffy housemate/landlord Mark.
Like The Office, you’ll be watching a lot of this through your fingers but with its hilarious cast of background characters we can’t recommend it enough.
4. I’m Alan Partridge
We all know someone who reminds us of the awkward radio presenter.
We guarantee you’ll be howling by the end of the first episode, even if some of it is at the expense of poor Lynn, Alan’s downtrodden PA.
5. Bad Education
Jack Whitehall isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but if you’re not a fan you’ll warm to him as incompetent young teacher Alfie Wickers.
6. Fawlty Towers
That show that your dad loved.
Again, there are only 12 episodes and the zany antics of hapless hotel owner Basil and clumsy waiter Manuel will leave you holding your sides throughout every one.
Expect lots of comedy violence.
7. Only Fools And Horses
Arguably one of the most loved sitcoms of all time.
Whoever hasn’t caught up with the hare-brained schemes of Del Boy and Rodney, now is the time.
8. Absolutely Fabulous
Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley star as the hilariously self-destructive Edina and Patsy.
If you have any mad aunties you’ll be able to see some similarities.
9 The Royle Family
Featuring a wonderfully simple synopsis of a family watching telly and talking shite.
Who can’t relate to that?
10. Bottom
The late Rik Mayall stars alongside long-time comedy partner Adrian Edmondson in this madcap and often crude show about two pathetic losers living out a sad existence in London.
These two truly are the kings of slapstick.
11. The Mighty Boosh
As brilliant as it is surreal, this one is not to be missed.
You’ll fall in love with Noel Fielding’s cheeky grin.
