Daisy Edgar-Jones reveals how she prepared her family for Normal People sex scenes

Daisy-Edgar Jones has opened up on how she prepared her family for the sex scenes which in which she appeared on hit show Normal People.

London-born actress Daisy Edgar-Jones was catapulted into the spotlight earlier this year when Normal People aired to much acclaim in Ireland and around the world. Undoubtedly one of the most talked-about aspects of the series was the numerous sex scenes she shared with co-star Paul Mescal.

Mescal has previously said that he and Daisy felt “safe and supported” during filming but in can probably come as quite a shock for people who know them well to see them in such a state of intimacy. With that in mind, Daisy made sure that her family were well-prepared, telling OK Magazine: “I made sure to send it to my mum before they watched it live, so that she knew exactly when to inform my grandparents to go and make a cup of tea.”

She also spoke about her boyfriend Tom Varey, who played Cley Cerwyn in Game of Thrones, saying: “I’m sure he’d rather not watch those scenes but on the whole he found the series very beautiful and he thought they were handled really well. He’s an actor, he’s done those scenes before. He had read the book and was incredibly moved by it.”

Preparing loved ones for these kinds of scenes is not something most of us have to deal with. Still, it sounds like Daisy has a strong support network and with her star set to rise further they’re all no doubt very proud.
