Irish Radio To Broadcast Ariana Grande’s Star-Studded Concert For Manchester

James Fenton

Manchester has been the focal point of the world for the most unimaginable reasons in the past couple of weeks.

However, in spite of the horrors that occurred at the end of the Ariana Grande concert on the night of Monday May 22, the city has become more loved worldwide than it already was for the spirit and togetherness it has shown on the back of the atrocity.

As you may have heard, Grande and her showbiz pals are putting on a show this Sunday at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in the city. The aim of the ‘One Love’ benefit concert is to raise vital funds for the Red Cross’ Manchester Emergency Fund which will aid family members of the deceased as well as those who sustained injuries in the attack.

The line-up is about as star-studded as you’ll ever see with Justin Bieber, Coldplay, The Black Eyed Peas, Take That, Niall Horan, Miley Cyrus and Usher already signed up and people this side of the Irish Sea will now be able to listen in.

2FM have confirmed that they are partnering up with the BBC to broadcast the event live on Irish airwaves. The official announcement can be heard at 2:45 in the following clip.

Presenter Nicky Byrne will host the broadcast from 6pm this Sunday and it’s sure to be a hugely entertaining affair amid solemn circumstances.
