There’s no denying that Elton John is an absolute music legend.
He’s of the world’s greatest singer-songwriters and is the voice behind such iconic tracks as Your Song, Tiny Dancer and Rocket Man.
Not to mention he’s largely responsible for the Lion King soundtrack.
So, I think it’s fair to say that his opinion counts, especially when it comes to musical matters…and as it turns out he’s a big fan of Dublin band Inhaler.
Speaking to men's magazine GQ, Elton said: "Bono's son is in a band called Inhaler from Dublin and they're f**king amazing".
Fronted by none other than Bono’s son Elijah Hewson, the Dublin four-piece have already played several big gigs including Electric Picnic and the annual New Year’s Eve celebrations on Dublin’s Custom House Quay.
Debuting at the Button Factory back in 2017, the band have proven to be quite popular, with even Noel Gallagher naming himself amongst their fans.
Keen to make their own mark, the band’s success is down to their own merit rather than a helping hand from any famous fathers as one would expect. Though raving endorsements from some of the best in the biz certainly do no harm in helping to up their profile.
According to Elton, Elijah told dad Bono "please don't tell the record company you're my dad".
Set to play two sold-out gigs in Dublin later this year, Inhaler is “excited to get some new music out very soon”.
