Five Irish Songs You Need To Hear This Week

Alan Fisher

Irish music has never sounded so good with new, quality artists popping up every week.

More of our music is being recognised at home and abroad than it has ever before, with our hip-hop and grime scenes even making a name for themselves.

To celebrate this glorious time for Irish music, I am going to highlight five songs every week that I think you should hear.

The list will consist of the latest releases from the hottest artists

Here are my top five songs I think you need to hear this week:

1 Kojaque – Flu Shot

Brand new music dropped only last week from the man who is taking over at the moment.

This single was released on BBC Radio 1 last week and the bizarre video dropped a couple of days later.

Something you must watch.

2 Rebel Phoenix – Limitless

Although not brand new, this is the latest release from the Dublin MC. A style of music I didn’t think I was mad about but, Mr Phoenix you have changed my view. Really enjoyed this.

3 Luka Palm – Nightlink

The soft boys link up once again to produce a brand new track about love on the night link. Cracking tune by Luka Palm featuring Kojaque and Kean Kavanagh

4 Laoise – Again

Latest release from the young lady from Galway.

5 Damola – This One

Damola has said that This One ‘describes the story of a dude who is running out of time in his pursuit of the Love of a particular Girl. It’s something I think a lot of people can relate with.’

He has an upcoming EP that will be released in late April although this single will not part of it.
