Paul Mescal has had a busy year and so you’d think he’d be happy to put his feet up and take a bit of a break once the autumn rolls around.
Well, not so according to one bookmaker, as fans of Paul Mescal could be seeing plenty more of him in the I’m A Celebrity castle towards the end of the year. The well-known betting company has listed the Normal People star among the favourites to appear on the ITV reality show, along with the likes of Vernon Kay, Ricky Hatton, Paul Merson and Carole Baskin of Tiger King fame.
The 20th edition of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is expected to be filmed in a castle in England, rather than the usual location of the Australian jungle, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and those who are optimistic about Mescal making an appearance can back him at 4/1, which is the sixth-best price of all the prospective celebs listed. Other potential Irish contestants include Conor McGregor (8/1), Maura Higgins (8/1) and Ronan Keating (33/1).
Given the stage Mescal is at in his blossoming career, it would probably be seen as a surprise to catch him doing reality TV so soon. His role on Normal People has helped him become an internationally-renowned actor and he’s also been keeping busy with other side projects like singing with Dermot Kennedy and dancing for the Rolling Stones. Ya know, the kind of bits and pieces we all get up to pass the time in between jobs.
Still, who wouldn’t want to watch Connell Waldron sitting in his GAA shorts eating insects with the likes of Jeremy Clarkson and Kym Marsh? We’ll just have to wait and see.
