The eyes of the world were fixed on Moscow last night as England took on Colombia in the World Cup round of 16.
While some Love Island fans were a little bit vexed that the footy was getting in the way of the drama at the villa, it seems people in Ireland were no different to the rest of the world.
RTÉ has confirmed that the match drew an average audience of 638,000 which was a share of 51% of those watching TV. The numbers peaked at 932,400 at 9.51pm as just under a million people here in Ireland tuned into the climactic penalty shootout from which England emerged victorious.

To put this into perspective, 1.35m watched the 2017 Late Late Toy Show which was the most watched programme on the national broadcaster last year.
Is this an indication that Ireland is very much behind Gareth Southgate’s men? Not exactly, if this article is anything to go by.
