The Spice Girls coming back into our lives was no major surprise.
The girls had been flirting with the idea of a comeback for months but sadly there will be no Victoria, or Posh Spice to me and you, on the tour.
They have announced a whole host of UK dates which go on sale this Friday but bookmakers are saying that the dream of them coming to Ireland is not completely over.
And if the girls announce that they’re going to play this Irish gig, it would certainly spice up our lives.
Paddy Power have Spice Girls at odds of 5/4 to headline a concert in Croke Park for 2019, taking the last of the spots for GAA HQ that are already being filled up by Westlife.
Just to put that into perspective for non-betting people, Paddy Power had the exact same odds on Westlife playing Croker before it was announced.
If we do have to say ‘Goodbye, my friend’ to the Croke Park dream, Paddy Power also has the girl band at 20/1 to headline in Stradbally at 2019’s Electric Picnic.
I mean if you asked us what we want, what we really, really want…
We’d take either-or at this stage just to see the fab four on Irish shores.
You may be thinking ‘Stop’, ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ to be asking for the band who created Girl Power to come to Ireland for a show.
And you might be right because “too much of something, can be bad enough” so for the time being, you’ll have to be satisfied with the UK dates.
Sorry.
