The basic B’s guide to Love Island episode 10

Fiona Frawley

I know a lot of us doubted this season at the start, but it’s two weeks in and we’re already experiencing drama the likes of which we haven’t seen since the “but could you be happier” saga from 2018.

The episode started off with the aftermath of Aaron’s brutal dumping of Sharon. The boys gathered around Aaron to tell him how brave he was for making the right decision, and Sharon had a small, subtle cry with the girls before not so subtly wearing her sexiest pjs to lie in bed beside the man who’s just told her he’s not interested. We all cringed for her but hey, who wouldn’t be a little unhinged after being dumped out of the blue and then having to sleep in a bed beside the person who dumped them?

In the morning, Millie and Lucinda had a chat on the balcony where even Millie jumped on the “Brad’s never felt this way about anyone” train despite only knowing Brad for three minutes, and Lucinda lapped it up. To be fair, it’s giving us very Callum and Molly energy from winter Love Island – they probably will end up together and have a happy relationship, but not one of us wants to witness any part of it.

Congrats, hun

Something else we really didn’t want to see was Chloe remembering her currency as a blonde and grafting Toby, with Kaz watching on being able to do nothing about it. This was interrupted by the Line of Booty challenge, which is when things really kicked off.

Main takeaways from the challenge:

  • Chloe picked Toby and lobbed the gob on him right in front of Kaz
  • Not one of these girls picked Hugo and he was left to stand there? Horrifically unsound
  • The second hand cringe we feel for Rachel after her fall will probably never go away

Back at the villa that evening, Kaz and Chloe had a chat about what went down during the challenge. Or rather, Kaz sat there looking like an angel while Chloe tripped over herself vaguely mumbling that she had to do what she had to do. Toby then had a chat with Kaz, the contents of which sounded a lot like us trying to get our word count up in junior cert english, but the main point was that he was done with her and would be getting to know Chloe instead.

We also briefly saw Liberty telling Jake she would not be spending her summer sitting there watching him get to know every blonde who walks through the doors. We would rather her tell him it was done altogether, but we’ll wait with baited breath until a new boy comes in for her.

The episode ended with an extremely ambiguous reveal of a long overdue new boy, Teddy. Twitter exploded and the investigation into what his ~type~ is began vis a vis his insta follows, and based on that alone, the outlook is bleak. Lighting a few candles today in the hopes that we don’t hear the world bl*nde come out of his mouth.
