These fan faves won’t be returning for this season of Irish Gogglebox

In a sad turn of events, everyone’s favourite Cavan twins won’t be appearing in the newest series of Gogglebox.

Identical twins Fergal and Neal Tully have been on the show since it began back in 2016 and were well loved for their hot takes and snazzy sock collections. In an announcement on Twitter, Fergal confirmed the dynamic duo would not be returning this season, writing: “It’s with a heavy heart to announce that myself and Neal will not be on gogglebox in the near future”. Known for his quintessentially rural Irish wit, he added: “I could not bring myself to watch tonight as it’s like watching your ex shifting your best buddy in the local night club”. Sure haven’t we all been there?

Neal also took to Twitter to inform his followers of the news, saying he’d miss the show and parting with the wise words: “if I died tonight the cows will still be milked in the morning”.

Love for the Tully twins poured out in the comments as fans let them know how sad they’d be to see them go:

The twins even got a reply from another former Gogglebox star, Declan from the Naughton family in Blessington , letting them know there’s life after the show.

The first episode of the new series of Gogglebox Ireland aired on Virgin Media last night, with narration from Deirdre O’Kane and the show will be back again next week for those looking to keep up with the Gruffertys, Dawn and Dale and Tadgh and his granny Ettie.
