It was the ’80s action drama that has spawned a million fancy dress outfits and now it’s been confirmed that Top Gun is set to return for a sequel.
Tom Cruise, who starred as LT Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in the 1986 cult classic, broke the news on Australian Breakfast show Sunrise while we were all sleeping on this side of the world.

This is bound to get people very excited as the original movie gained insane worldwide popularity for a number of reasons, not least because of ‘Take My Breath Away’, the Academy Award winning song by Berlin which was tied to it.
