If You Haven’t Seen This Incredibly Powerful Film You Need To Watch RTÉ Tonight

RTÉ have pulled it out of the bag with tonight’s movie by showing Philomena, the critically-acclaimed true story of a woman’s 50-year search for her forcibly-adopted son.

The film stars Judi Dench as Philomena Lee as well as Steve Coogan as Martin Sixsmith, the journalist tasked with helping her to find Anthony, the baby she was forced to give up at an Irish convent fifty years previously.

Rex Reed of the New York Observer described the 2013 movie as ‘profoundly moving and thoroughly mind provoking, but despite the poignant subject matter, I promise you will not leave Philomena depressed.’
