WATCH: Comedian channels Sinead O’Connor as part of ‘Lockdown Lip Sync’ challenge

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery and if that’s the case then Sinead O’Connor can be very flattered indeed by this performance.

Marcus Brigstocke is an English comedian known for his work on television and radio but during this lockdown he appears to have added another string to his performative bow. Along with his wife and fellow comedian Rachel Parris, Marcus has been undertaking a #LockdownLipSync challenge and one of the tunes he has attempted is Sinead O’Connor’s seminal 1990 hit Nothing Compares 2 U.

Like many of us, the pair have plenty of time on their hands and Marcus’ synced version of the tune was posted on Friday. You really have to admire his dedication to the cause as he even went as far including a black background just like the iconic video for the Irish singer’s classic.

Take a look at his rendition below…

Obviously nothing compares to Sinead’s version of Nothing Compares, as she proved so beautifully with her outstanding performance of the song on The Late Late Show last year but you have to admire Marcus’ efforts here.

Other tunes that Marcus and Rachel have attempted include Faith by George Micheal, Disco 2000 by Pulp and Since You’ve Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson. If you’re looking for some light entertainment during these long days at home, you could do worse than follow Marcus on Twitter here, or indeed Rachel here.
