WATCH: The Piers Morgan Late Late appearance in which he claimed he was “ghosted” by Meghan Markle

Good Morning Britain viewers tuned into today for the first time since it was announced that Piers Morgan would be leaving the show.

Piers Morgan had been very vocal in recent days on the subject of Meghan Markle and the fallout of her interview with Oprah Winfrey. It all came to a head yesterday when the controversial presenter stormed off set during a heated debate with colleague Alex Beresford and last night ITV issued a statement that said: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”

Morgan had been the subject of increasing criticism for the way he dismissed Markle’s mental health struggles earlier this week and viewers of the Late Late Show will know that she has gotten under his skin for quite some time. Back in 2018, Piers spoke to Ryan Tubridy about how he enjoyed a night out with Meghan prior to her relationship with Prince Harry before she went on to “ghost him.” At the end of short clip that has been shared widely, Piers says “I really liked her.”
