Dublin Airport confirms they can’t stop Matt Damon from leaving.
Pity.
Matt Damon has been spending lockdown in Dalkey, Dublin ever since March and we have really taken him in as one of our own.
First, a NY Times Journalist tried to infiltrate the Dalkey Open Form Facebook group before she was quickly shut down and removed. They went all out to protect their prized possession.
He was then spotted with a SuperValu bag and people really enjoyed that.
Damon then made his first media appearance by talking to Graham and Nathan on Spin 103.8 where he talked all about his time in Ireland and that in fact, the SuperValu bag was not full of cans.
Most recently he made a video congratulating Loreto Abbey 6th for graduating during the lockdown.
We would really like to keep him as one of our own but Dublin Airport has confirmed that they can not stop him leaving.
It comes after a number of queries they took to Twitter.
‘In response to a number of queries, we can confirm that we’re unable to stop Matt Damon returning to the US if & when he so chooses.’
‘That would be a repatriation journey. Even though some of us would like to, we can’t just keep the guy indefinitely.’
