Irish Twitter reacts to the roadmap for reopening Ireland

Fiona Frawley

As you can imagine, there are some humdingers.

As most of us know, Taoiseach Micheál Martin announced yesterday that the easing of any remaining restrictions still in place would gradually ease over the next month, culminating in an easing of basically everything on the 22nd of October. It’s big news, and obviously the people of Ireland have questions. Have people started making their Halloween costumes yet? Will Coppers be open for All Ireland Final night? What will Richard Chambers do when all the restrictions ease? We have answers to none of these questions, but we do have a round up of some of our favourite tweets following the announcement.

Teresa left shaking at the amount of unnecessary shifting.

Opening Coppers is the final step in the quest to lift the Mayo curse.

The question on all our lips tbh.

It’s us or them in fairness.

I’m sweating about this already.

Petition for this to happen?

Ah, Irish Twitter. You never let us down.
