Since its launch in 2016, Gogglebox Ireland has been a massive hit with TV viewers and the last couple of episodes have been particular highlights.
Last week, viewers enjoyed watching the Goggleboxers react to iconic Irish TV moments of the 80s and 90s and last night it was the turn of the ’00s and now’.
In the episode, we were reminded of monumental events such as Nadine Coyle mixing up her date of birth and the time we sent Dustin The Turkey off the the Eurovision – a moment “we never recovered from” according to viewer fave John.
There was one segment though that neither the participants nor the viewers at home were expecting. Audiences were brought back to the relatively recent year of 2013 and a clip of This Morning With Sybil And Martin which focused on the benefits of eating placenta after giving birth.
The thoughts of it were enough to bring a grimace to most faces but the moment really hit home when we saw a big lump of placenta landing in a kitchen sink and the less said about the placenta smoothies the better.
Needless to say, the nation found the scenes a bit too much to handle…

*Shudders*. You can catch up with old episodes of Gogglebox Ireland on Virgin Media Player but let’s just say you might want to skip any placenta-related scenes.
