This national treasure will be appearing on the Late Late this Friday

Fiona Frawley

And before you jump to any conclusions no, Wally the Walrus won’t be leaving his pontoon to chat with Ryan.

While we continue to work on getting Wally tv ready, one of Ireland’s most beloved national exports Donie O’Sullivan will be talking all things CNN, journalism and life in the States with Ryan Tubridy this Friday.

Donie is one part of a seriously impressive line up of guests for the Late Late Show’s return this Friday at 9:35pm.

Also scheduled to appear on the show are some of Ireland’s Olympic heroes including Kellie Harrington, Paul O’Donovan, Fintan McCarthy, Aidan Walsh, Afric Keogh, Eimear Lambe, Fiona Murtagh and Emily Hegarty. They’ll be chatting to Ryan about what they have been getting up to since they arrived back from Tokyo and the heroes’ welcome they received.

Friday night’s show will also feature a performance from the Script, hot off the announcement of their new tour and greatest hits album, and an appearance from Culture Club icon Boy George to talk about his incredible career in music and his special connection to Ireland.

Following the huge success of Sophie: A Murder in West Cork and Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie over the summer, Sophie Toscan du Plantier’s son, Pierre Louis Baudey-Vignaud, will talk about the impact his mother’s murder has had on his life.

And, on what would have been Dolores O’Riordan’s 50th birthday her mother Eileen will chat to Ryan about Dolores’ incredible talent and her mischievous nature. She’ll be joined by Fergal Lawler from The Cranberries who will chat about his life on the road and in the studio with Dolores.

You can catch all of this and loads more this Friday, September 3rd at 9.35 pm on RTÉ One.
