Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and President Of The European Council Donald Tusk both delivered speeches in Brussels today and it’s fair to say things got a little lively.
Tusk finished his speech by saying “I’ve been wondering what that special place in hell looks like for those who promoted Brexit without even a sketch of a plan how to carry it safely” and the clip has now been shared widely, drawing particular ire from certain members of the UK government.

The pointed remarks appeared to catch Varadkar by surprise if his demeanour afterwards is anything to go by. Leaning in for a handshake, the Taoiseach was heard to say “they’ll give you terrible trouble, the British press,” to which Tusk responded with nothing more than a hearty laugh.

We’re not sure said press will enjoy Leo’s comment too much either but judging by the two lads’ reactions, neither will care too much.
