Get those jazz hands at the ready.
Cork is welcoming back their annual Jazz Festival for 2022 this bank holiday weekend. The festival first launched in 1978, and has become a much-loved event ever since its inception. This year promises new locations, pop up events, late night parties, boat trips, collabs and on street activities; essentially if you can make it down to Cork this weekend, we highly recommend that you do so.
When is it?
Cork Jazz Festival 2022 takes place from Thursday 27th October to 31st October. Each event takes place at different times, in different venues all over the city, so make sure you have your itinerary clear in your mind ahead of time.
How much are tickets?
Ticket prices vary depending on what shows or gigs you wish to attend. You can check them all out HERE.
What’s on?
This year’s lineup features a mix of exciting Irish and international talent. There’ll also be on-street activities, popup events and the general buzz around the city that the festival is known and loved for.
Returning 32 years after they performed one the most memorable gigs that Cork’s Páirc Uí Chaoimh has ever witnessed, New Power Generation return to celebrate their mentor Prince and perform something truly special in a tribute to one of the greatest musicians in recording history. Hermeto Pascoal, who Miles Davis once dubbed as ‘one of the most important musicians on the planet’ makes a return to Ireland for the first time in almost 20 years.
The Jazz Music Trail sees the city come alive with the sights and sounds of this music trail that spans over 60 Cork venues. With music to suit every appetite, guests will discover everything from ska to swing and jazz to brass, the trail leads you to every corner of the city.
