Ed Sheeran Told This Gas Story Involving Saoirse Ronan And A ‘Galway Grill’ Tattoo

Ed Sheeran first started the rumour mill about did-he-didn’t-he get a Galway memorial tattoo in his video for Shape of You, and now there’s a new hilarious layer to the whole mystery.

Ed told fans at his recent concert in Glasgow that when he was filming the video for Galway Girl with Saoirse Ronan last week she played a classic prank on him.

She was supposed to write ‘Galway Girl’ on his arm for a tattoo… But instead she wrote ‘Galway GRILL’.

Ed said: 

When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl from her point of view.

It actually says Galway Grill. G-R-I-L-L. She really took the p**s out of me – full on.

I haven’t actually told anyone that yet. I’m actually quite proud of her. It’s the kind of thing I would do.

We’re still not sure if that Galway tattoo he has on his arm in Shapes of You is real or not, but can you imagine if he actually got Galway Grill tattooed?
