WATCH: Denzel Washington’s new serial killer thriller boasts THREE Oscar-winning leads

Rory Cashin

Washington + Serial Killer Thriller = A Must Watch.

Denzel Washington has been nominated for eight acting Oscars, and he’s won two of them. In his new movie, The Little Things, he’ll be joined by Jared Leto (winner of Best Supporting Actor for Dallas Buyers Club) and Rami Malek (winner of Best Actor for Bohemian Rhapsody), so this project is arriving with some serious talent behind it.

The movie deals with a Deputy Sheriff (Washington) who is sent to Los Angeles for what should have been a quick evidence-gathering assignment. Instead, he becomes embroiled in the search for a killer who is terrorising the city.

Leading the hunt is a local L.A. Sheriff Department Sergeant (Malek), who becomes quickly impressed with the Deputy’s instincts, and he unofficially engages his help. But as they track the killer, the Sergeant is unaware that the investigation is dredging up echoes of their past, uncovering disturbing secrets that could threaten more than his case, which includes a man that they believe may be the prime suspect (Leto).

Whenever great actors get involved with a serial killer thriller, we are almost always guaranteed a high quality product, and the trailer is definitely giving us vibes along the lines of Se7en and Prisoners, while Washington’s presence is reminding us of his contributions to the genre, like Fallen and The Bone Collector.

The Little Things is due for release in the States in January, with no set release date for Irish cinemas just yet, but we’d imagine it will also be early 2021.
