We’ve become a little weary of celebrities visiting our Emerald Isle, ever since Harry Styles stopped the nation with his bag of cans smuggled in a Tower Records bag.

So support from a far makes a refreshing change, particularly when it engages with an event of public interest, such as Daniel Craig throwing his support in for Limerick on the day of the All Ireland Hurling final.

Sharing a snap of herself and Craig, actor Ruth Negga, wrote that “someone stole my hat..”

Craig seemed to have been the bit of luck that the team needed, as the Limerick hurlers clinched a victory against Kilkenny: 1-31 to 2-26 when the full-time whistle blew.

Negga made her Broadway debut recently alongside Craig, performing Sam Gold’s adaption of Macbeth on Broadway.

The Limerick woman has made quite the impact on the notoriously tough New York drama scene, with New York Magazine declaring that “Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga are ELECTRIC.”
